Extract: “Mr. Emmanuel Grégoire therefore asks the government if it intends to commit France, in coordination with the Council of Europe, the European Union and the United Nations, to urgent action aimed at ● Demand immediate and unconditional humanitarian access to the Armenian hostages and other political prisoners in Azerbaijan. ● Strongly condemn the expulsion of the ICRC and insist on the need to re-establish its humanitarian mission in Azerbaijan. ● Support the efforts of LIBERTAS and other organizations working to defend the rights of prisoners and hostages in Azerbaijan. ● Ask the French ambassador or the EU representation in Baku to send their staff to attend the parody trials of 16 Armenian state hostages, which are continuing today without any international observers or free media

“Worse still, Armenia's abandonment of international appeals against Azerbaijan risks erasing any prospect of justice for the war crimes, forced displacement and arbitrary detention of Armenian prisoners. The possible Armenian withdrawal of the complaint before the International Court of Justice would mean that law yields to force. Nor is there any mention of the release of Armenian political prisoners in Baku in this agreement, which is not tolerable.”
